This farmhouse with grounds of 2 hectares is located close to the village of Valreas, capital of the Enclave des Papes, which is part of the Vaucluse department, though it is encircled by Drome Provencale. The region is justly famous for the quality of its Cotes du Rhone wines, including such stellar names as Cairanne, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the closest of which is just a mouth-watering 20 minutes away.

Surrounded by vineyards and hill clad forests rich in truffles, with the nearest neighbour nearly 1km away, the owners, the husband an architect, the wife an interior designer have imaginatively restored the 600sqm farmhouse in a simple very appealing mix of authentic and contemporary styles.

Immediately in front of the south facing farmhouse there is an attractive and large courtyard with BBQ area, a small twin bedded room for children or staff, a covered terrace for dining outside and ornamental pond, whilst further afield, again in front of the property there is a covered 16 x 8 metre swimming pool and boules court. At the end of the drive, from the road leading out of Valreas, which is around 2kms away, there are parking spaces for at least 8 cars.

In low and mid seasons guests can book just the 3 bedroom bergerie.
